We Act as a GPS for Bariatric Service Providers Helping Them Navigate the Bariatric Market
Information Uncover was established in Houston, TX over fifteen years ago. We are a strategic management consulting company, specializing in looking for, analyzing and supplying strategic information to bariatric (surgical and non surgical) service providers. We help the providers increase their chances of success by supplying them with, and enabling them to use, strategic information to continually prepare for plausible, future events. We build scenarios, focusing on the bariatric industry, that promote practices that can equip the providers to better navigate, or strategically manage, within the weight loss and weight management market.
We view strategic management as a process consisting of distinct organizational activities: An organization first identifies opportunities and threats within the organization's external environment. The organization then selects products or services to offer that take advantage of the opportunities. The organization establishes a mission and a set of measurable business objectives based on the selected services.
The organization delineates, and starts to engage in, activities necessary to achieve the established business objectives. Finally, the organization puts a methodology in place to access and analyze industry related information on an ongoing basis to keep the organization's activities in direct support of the organization's mission and objectives. Although, we can assist in all aspects of the strategic management process, we spend the bulk of our time analyzing bariatric industry-related information to help an organization evaluate its service offerings in light of environmental events.
Part of what we do is often called environmental scanning and analysis. We use our analysis results to establish scenarios from which plausible future opportunities and threats can be identified. This opportunity-and-threat Identification enables the provider to better focus its action plans and their associated tactical and strategic activities.
In the past, we concentrated on the aerospace industry, the computer industry, the air bag industry, and the health care industry. Recently, we began applying our expertise exclusively to the bariatric segment of the health care industry. We bring extensive strategic-information analysis experience to this health care industry segment.This segment includes weight loss organizations that perform bariatric surgery. This segment, or sub-industry, includes organizations that offer non-surgical medical weight loss programs employing diet, exercise, and medication for weight loss. And this medical weight loss sub-industry includes organizations that provide weight loss related medical devices. We, at Information Uncover, continually review bariatric industry related information and we frequently talk with industry experts to uncover early signs of future environmental opportunities and threats. We perform these activities so that we can offer bariatric service providers the best in strategic management assistance.
Some of the activities we engage in are similar to those that a press-clipping service provider might engage in. However, since we focus only on the bariatric industry, continuing to keep abreast of that industry, we have assess to bariatric industry information that allows us to establish plausible scenarios. Thus, instead of providing a bariatric service organization with information that the organization MIGHT be interested in, we can provide the organization with targeted information and analysis that the organization IS LIKELY to be need to assess its service offerings.
Our goal is to help a bariatric service organization gain business foresight that can enable the organization to improve its strategic management -- especially the organization's ability to respond quickly to changing environmental conditions. So we perform environmental scanning (industry monitoring), environmental analysis, and scenario analysis to gain valuable insight, identify environmental issues, and uncover approaches that can give an organization a competitive edge.
To sum it up, we monitor organization-external business information for bariatric service providers. We analyze the information to uncover early signs of future opportunities and threats. The type of analysis we perform is essential to effective strategic management. The analysis we perform is valuable in Balanced Score Card analysis where an organization establishes objectives and measures for key business areas.
